Gladstone's Land is a 17th century building, and a typical example of the overcrowded tenement houses of the era. Completed in 1620 and originally the home of Thomas Gledstanes in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, the building contains wonderful painted ceilings and the first floor has been completely restored with typical refurbishments of the period. A small shop on the premises is stocked with replicas of 17th century goods.
